Borsa del Pellegrino

Via Calascibetta, 9, Palermo, PA, Italia

"You can tell everything about a traveler by the bag he is carrying."

In 2008 Laura and Francesco had an intuition that ran counter to the idea of standardized, homogeneous manufacturing. Their idea was to return to old principles and standards of craftsmanship. Borsa del Pellegrino (the Pilgrim's Bag) seeks to rediscover traditional tools of the trade, and to help rede ne the idea of what working in a city can be. We hope that everything we make, which is all by hand, has a spirit, an identity, a meaning; and we work to create unique pieces that re ect who we are as human beings. “We work patiently on the details, and like to think of our bags as inseparable companions. Our name was inspired by an image of a modern-day pilgrim, an open-eyed wanderer who looks at the world with curiosity, and a desire to discover.” Located in the historical center of Palermo, our small store is animated by the rich, vibrant, and diverse history of our city.
